I have two suggestions, although Amoxicllin could be a third if ulcers are suspected despite the lack of evidence of heliobacter.

One would be Carafate (same as Sucralfate) 20-30 minutes before meals. It coats irritated stomach lining and is a regular part of ulcer treatment.

The other would be mixing some slippery elm bark powder in with the soup. It helps soothe any and all GI problems. We used it with much success in treating Neo's ulcers, along with pepcid, carafate, and 6 weeks of amoxicillin. I put about 1/8 teaspoon of the powder in with each feeding of soup, 4 times daily. We continued with the pepcid, carafate, and slippery elm powder up until he succumbed to insulinoma, and his ulcers, which were very bad initially, were not a problem for his last couple of months.
