I quit doing vaccinations about 4 years ago with my guys. Especially
for the older ones, even if they don't have health issues.

I'm part of a shelter/rescue and we have approx 100+ ferrets in our
system. In our 12 years as a shelter we have never heard of a case
of distemper in a ferret in our state. But we see way too many
reactions to the distemper and rabies shots.

Also, my vet tells people if they don't take their ferret out in
public don't bother with the rabies, either. Since it's more of
an 'insurance policy' if they bite someone. You need to check with
your local state/city laws as to what the policy is and what you feel
comfortable doing about vaccinating for rabies.

Just my opinion, I'm not a vet. But I feel very comfortable not
vaccinating my guys. And I have anywhere between 20 - 30 ferrets at
one time.
