Currently he is on Prednisone .1 cc 2 times a day. Since he started
Prednisone a month ago he has lost a lot of weight .5 pounds and his
Glucose was 60 the last time the vet checked! It got worse! I have
not noticed much of an improvement with his energy level either.

Does anyone have any advice as to where to go from here?

**What is the concentration of the prednisone? That can make a huge
difference for his insulinoma - if it is the lower concentration (5.7 mg/5 ml), that's
not very much pred. Even if it's the higher concentration (15 mg/5 ml),
that's still a pretty low dose and the first step would be to increase it.

As far as the coughing/hacking, I'd start looking into an allergy of some
kind, since x-rays, etc are normal and so was the oral exam. Of interest - I
recently sold a kit that started coughing as soon as he went to his new owner's
house. She was using a pine litter, I advised switching back to Yesterday's
News and the coughing went away.**
