Dr. Murray and list members:
We just adopted three ferrets from the local shelter and I would like to use Revolution to treat for both ear mites and heartworm. All indications are that none of them have been treated for heartworms in the past. One is a small female, about a year old (Baby Girl). The second is a male, around 1-1/2 years old (Morphy), and the third is a female (Trinny), somewhere in the range of 3-4 years old. The male and older female are about the same size, maybe 2 to 2-1/2 lbs, while the younger female is maybe 1-1/2 lbs. Is the cat-sized Revolution (for cats 5-15 lbs) safe to use on all three of them, and will that dosage be strong enough to prevent heartworm, as well as clear up the mites? Also, should a second dose be given, and if so, how long after the first dose?
Thanks very much,
Jeff
