Subject: [ferrethealth] Natural Gold Food by Pretty Pets

I think it is a good food, but much different than our ferrets are used to. I mix foods, and found this to work well in picky ferrets, rescues that come in, and just in case a food is off the market. Like you noted, they do imprint. So, the best opportunity is now. Introduce new foods to your ferret, that way later on the ferret will recognize it as food. Even start some meats, chicken , chicken baby foods, ground turkey, etc. It may take a few tries, but if your ferret gets used to a variety of foods, it may make it easier one day years from now when he has to eat meat baby food or chicken gravy for a supplement, post op, etc.

Hi Everyone,

I have read the archives on this food, and I have a little male ferret
who is 4 months old. He is readily eating kibble, hard and softened
by hot water, (totally Ferret for babies) and I was wondering if
anyone has been having positive results from the Natural Gold. Is 4
months too early to begin feeding this little guy this food?
