Subject: [ferrethealth] Insulinoma question
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a 5 1/2 yo male ferret (Bandit) who was diagnosed with
Insulinoma by BG test and exploratory sugery last November - no tumors
were seen that could be removed. Bandit was started on Pred and I
took him back several times for BG tests to determine the right dosage
(.5cc 2x a day currently). He is stable and seems to be feeling
pretty good, however, I noticed this week that his poo has become very
watery almost just colored liquid. He gets duck soup 2x a day with
his Pred (actually just a taste before and then he finishes it after
the Pred). Could he be needing an adjustment on his dosage again? Is
this a sign that his BG may be off again? I plan to take him into the
vet soon anyway for his vaccinations, just wondering if it should be
sooner rather than later. He is eating, drinking, and playing fine,
and he has about 5-8 BMs a day (he is the only one with the
squirts)....so I can tell which are his - and I watched him do it, so
I know what "his" poo looks like (compared to my other fuzzies). Any
advise is appreciated.

Tina
