Subject: [ferrethealth] difficulty urinating continued
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I'm sorry that this post is a little long as I wanted to give those
of you who don't remember my dilemma some history.

Mojave's been having difficulty urinating. He walks in and out of the
litter pan several times before stretching himself out and pushing
his abdomen in and out to urinate.

My dog's and cat's vet did a xrays and it was revealed that his
bladder was misshapen. Instaed of it being tear drop shape it was
rounder than would normally be expected. Plus, he had something going
on with a vertebra that the vet said, "not to say that it's been
broken, it may have just grown in that way."
That same day we saw that vet Mojave had a urinalysis and
Tennessee Panel done. The results from the urinalysis came back
normal: no crystals, pH was normal, etc. The results of the Tennesse
panel just came back to reveal that two of three parameters were
elevated supporting clinical symptoms of Adrenal Disease. The one
that wasn't elevated was Estradiol.

Today he had an ultrasound done at his normal vet. According to the
vet that was there, the ultrasound did not show any enlarged
adrenals, his prostate wasn't enlarged, and his bladder was normal.
She admitted she hadn't even looked at the xrays I brought in though.

Does anyone have any ideas of what's going on?

Another thing, he had the bloodwork done on February 14th and the
hair on his neck still hasn't grown back. Plus, I could be looking at
it a little subjectively or maybe it's just seasonal coat changes but
he has been scratching a lot lately. Not obsessively scratching but
he has been scratching.

I do not trust the vet that did the ultrasound. The last time I had
them do an ultrasound they said other than an enlarged spleen they
did not see anything wrong with Komay but the next day she had frank
blood in her stool. I don't know if the blood was caused by something
they did or if they didn't pick up on it, but I do not trust them
anymore.

Thank you very much. Any and all help is greatly appreciated,

Sheryl
