Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] IBD questions
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

She doesnt have any other signs besides the seedy stools. The only other sign she had, was when they ran a bloodtest (2 times), her lipase levels came back in the mid 900's both times. I dont know what the normal levels of lipase are (cant find that info), but her Vet said it was elevated. Her stools are usually never diarrhia, sometimes loose, sometimes solid - but always seedy. Other than that, no other signs - she's always a good weight, active etc...

I noticed the seedy stools a while ago, and I read that it probably meant what you say - 'undigested kibble/fat'... and thats when I began the food trials with her.

Thanks for the food suggestions, but I've tried that (and still do it) with her. Nothing seems to change it. I havent tried the acidophilus or Slippery Elm - where would I find those?, and how long before I expect to see a change?

I am very hesitant to jump to a biopsy surgery, but on the other hand, I'm afraid of not fixing this, as the Vet says that IBD can possibly lead to intestinal cancer.

Thanks for writing,
Andrea
