Subject: [ferrethealth] live and learn: mink parvovirus
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Okay, I have been talking with a friend who is a ferret pathologist and found that I
misinterpreted something, but the over all result of what I said was still correct. (Whew!)
There IS a mink parvovirus (as well as there being EGE) BUT -- and this is a huge "BUT" --
two experts have repeatedly looked for that parvovirus in ferrets over the years and it just
has not shown up in ferrets.
When it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
When it infects like ECE and behaves like ECE...
