I noted Dr. Murray's message about FIP in ferrets, there's no signs
of anemia or any abnormality in Geordie Kirk ferret's blood values,
and no sign of lesions, in fact he has a great coat and healthy
skin. Even had good skin turgor because he's not dehydrated. Still
he moans a little bit when awake and doesn't want to move. Reminds
me of my arthritis onset when every joint seemed swollen and sore,
only there's no sign of swelling or soreness in this ferret; Geordie
doesn't mind being picked up and held at all.
I get upset about this kind of thing when I don't know how can i
make this poor fur-kid comfortable. When he's at rest, we have him
on four layers of thick, soft material to prevent any hint of
bedsores, but he does move off of it to his chosen corner to do his
businesses, which are still completely normal-appearing.
