Hi Laurie,

I have a ferret who showed adrenal symptoms a little over two years ago now (sparse fur, trouble urinating, general loss of vitality). An ultrasound showed no enlargement of either adrenal gland, so he went on the monthly Lupron depot (the logic being we didn't want to do surgery if we didn't know for sure which gland/s was/were affected). All the symptoms cleared up and he became a happy ferret with a healthy coat who pees with great vigor, especially where he's not supposed to ;-) About a year and two months after he had the first ultrasound, we did a follow-up ultrasound to check on his adrenals. They were no different than they had been at the beginning. I have read in some posts here that Lupron might slow the growth of diseased adrenal glands; I don't know if that's what is happening with my ferret, but at any rate, the glands haven't changed in size nearly two years later. So I would say it is entirely possible that adrenal disease diagnosed 1.5 years ago still mi!
ght not be visible even though it is causing symptoms.

"Is that my business? Well, what is my business? Do I know? Did I ever know? Let's not go into that. You're not human tonight, Marlowe. Maybe I never was or ever will be... Maybe we all get like this in the cold half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right."
