If the licorice in that tonic has finally been removed that will be a
wonderful change.

Sadly, the only way to know some things for sure are to do necropsies
with pathology. I am sorry to read of the loss of your little one.

In the Archives and in the Links there are herbal URLs which are
responsibly created, i.e. they list counter-indications, what meds
(of any type) or foods may conflict with a given herb or be altered
in action by it, they list side-effects, etc. Like any other medical
approach, the natural one has a range of hazards, some of which can
even become fatal.

Here are two good resources that are easy to use, and because some
plants that are safe for us are poisonous to members of Carnivora
(and vice versa) I will follow those with some veterinary poisoning
