Maybe this is just my opinion, but food digging or bowl flipping isn't
a "bad" behavior. One of my boys is a total food digger, and if he
doesn't dig in the bowl, he flips it over lol. It's just something
we've had to learn to deal with. We keep the food and water (water
always in a bottle because both boys dig in the water too) on a
separate level from the litter, etc. If it gets scattered on the
floor of the level they sleep on... no big deal (they hide food anyway).

Also, not sure about yours, but my diggers tend to do it only in the
cage and not in their 'out of the cage' dish. Just an observation,
though maybe someone here can explain this better than I.

The bowl on the cage is attached (corner bowl)... BUT, one of the best
ways we've found to help combat this problem is to put a handful of
food OUT of the bowl and on the level where the dish is. My main
digger, Boo Boo, usually won't dig any out if the work's already been
done for him. lol

Hope that helps.
