Subject: [ferrethealth] diabetic ferret

Has anyone had experience with a diabetic ferret? What I read on-line
isn't very hopeful.
Last Friday I noticed how really weak he was. I assumed insulinoma,
but when I got him to the vet's on Monday his BG was 482. He's on
insulin, but it's hard to regulate because he doesn't want to eat or
drink. I have been forcing both, but today I went and got an IV
solution to give him sub-cu injections. I'm hoping if I can get him
hydrated that he will feel better and we'll be able to regulate better.
