Look at the HUMANE types of traps mentioned in multiple replies you got here at the FHL.
Sticky feet traps are NOT the only type of traps.

Yes, sometimes ferrets do adopt the mice. There was even one FML member long ago who
found one of her female ferrets careful feeding a mouse ferret food, piece by piece.
