Could the ferret be deaf? Also, what do you mean stay in a deep sleep? While
being held?
We have had several ferrets that were deaf and very hard to wake up.
Sometimes to the point of thinking they had died. Their breathing was shallow and they
were unresponsive to external stimuli, such as shaking, rubbing, blowing on
their tummies, calling their name, etc.
