Subject: [ferrethealth] Flax seed oil

Hi everyone,
Has anyone used flax seed oil? I started using it on
Sweetie(rescue)when she had lost about 85% of her hair. She has
Insulonoma possibly adrenal issues though ultrasound looks normal, so
I'm not sure why she lost so much hair. She actually had a mohawk down
her back. So I started adding about 1-2 baby spoons of flax seed oil
to her A/D canned supplement feedings(2x). A few weeks later I noticed
her hair started to grow back. I hadn't even known what color she was
because her hair was so sparse. She looks like a black(ish)
roan(silver) with a big splash of white on her chest. She is on pred.
but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with her fur. Now I have
another rescue that I'm using flax seed oil with, she looks almost
identical to Sweetie, except that her fur and skin looks paler. I've
noticed that the hair at the top of her head is begining to darken and
the fur is possibly growing in. Please let me know if anyone has tried it.
