Jess,
Winter temp in our house here in NW Illinois is kept between 60 and 64 degrees except on windy days when it is cranked up to 66. They all have no problems with the temperature. Of course there are plenty of blankets in the cages at night for them to curl up in. Mostly they sleep in groups, and the cages are covered at night with the bottom front left uncovered about four inches for ventilation.

Jess, because ferrets have a high body temp normally (100-103) they do much better in the cool-cold than warm-hot. We try to keep our house temp from 65-68 deg. F and they do very well at those temp.
Hope that helps.
