**sighs**
Okay here it goes... im gonna vent (but stay on subject)

On friday my fiance and I went to our favorite pet store, XXXXX to buy a new 5 story cage (ya know to totally spoil our baby boy) and they had 24 ferrets in a 2 foot by 4 foot area.... all sneezing with mucus - i looked through them and then picked up a little one with a cute spot on his tail (not going to adopt him) his nose was crusted over, he was blowing snot bubbles out of his mouth and he was burning up to the touch... I took him over to the manager and showed him to him...this guy was lethargic, dehydrated, etc. The manager says "we know" apparently they had just been shipped from ny in groups of 12 in a 2 foot by 2 foot crate!!!! They said they were on Tetrocyclone every 12 hrs in their h2o however according to our veteven if he was drinking the h20 it wasnt enough to get him better.

I put him back - we went home....we came back....do I really need to say anymore? Now the baby is in a make shift bed (sm tote with a bunch of blankets) by my bed...we took him to the vet and dropped a lot more than we had ...we reported them to the sheriffs dept and the ASPCA on recomendation from the vet who said if I didnt she would.

So to make a long story short... we are up every 2 hours with a baby that is wheezing, coughing, can barely breath, etc. tryingto get him to eat and drink. By the time I got him and got to the vet (the next am) he required a shot or shock and a subdermal ( think i said that right) shot for a 20mlsack of saline.

Any other suggestions? We are letting him sleep...hes pooing and peeing reg. eating A/d (I couldnt afford the ferret kind) on his own every 2 hours mixed with pedalite, and then drinking about 50mls to 200mls of h20 every hr. And he has a check up in 2 days...

I know we just got boo... but... I couldnt leave him there... Koda (and no animal for that matter) deserves that.
