I witnessed a similar situation. My neighbor worked at a local pet
store over the summer. Rumor at her store was that a shipment came
in that didn't consist of expensive dogs so the owner left the
shipment of ferrets at the airport for an extra day. One baby girl
ferret was in similar shape to what you're describing, she was
barely moving and was oozing thick green from the ears and nose. My
neighbor happened to be the type to bring all the sick animals home
with her. She cleaned out the baby's ears, gave the antibiotic
prescribed by the store vet, and fed A/D and pedialyte every couple
of hours. The baby slept the rest of the time for the first 2 days,
but after that was bouncing around. She just had some mucous for a
few more days.

At least he's eating on his own, he just needs a couple of days to
bring down the infection.

I wish that I could've reported it. I didn't witness anything at the
store firsthand so I was afraid they would know where I got the
information and it would compromise her job. She was only in
highschool but the sick animals needed her there because no one else
took them home. I just hoped the airport would report it.

My neighbors did the same thing for a puppy that the vet swore
wasn't more than 5 weeks. The puppy was so young she couldn't eat on
her own. My neighbors said they wanted to buy the dog, but they
wouldnt pay the vet bill, so they went to the hospital the petstore
uses and had the bill sent to the petstore. I wonder if you might be
able to get anything out of the petstore for this.

baby that is wheezing, coughing, can barely breath, etc. tryingto
get him to eat and drink. By the time I got him and got to the vet
(the next am) he required a shot or shock and a subdermal ( think i
said that right) shot for a 20mlsack of saline.

peeing reg. eating A/d (I couldnt afford the ferret kind) on his own
every 2 hours mixed with pedalite, and then drinking about 50mls to
200mls of h20 every hr. And he has a check up in 2 days...
