Is there any rash as can happen with Canine Distemper? Kits need 3 Canine Distemper
shots of the correct types at specific ages and if they are not done or the wrong ones
given (the first being a too common problem with some pet stores) they can be infected if
exposed to infected dogs or people who have handled infected animals or walked in the
waste of them (if they had too much exposure to the clothing or shoes, or to infected
waste tracked in).

Often that coloration is bacterial.

My hope is that if it is bacterial that it has not eaten through the sinuses into the brain or
the inner ears, and that it is not Canine Distemper. I am so sorry to have even mention
such things, but as you know this is a very, very ill animal.

Depending on your state there may be state laws which will be very useful for you and the
ferrets. NJ is that way BOTH with pet stores business licenses and with pet "Lemon Laws".
The humane laws here are pretty good, too.

The ASPCA keeps records of at least some state regulations on their website, there is a
pet lemon laws website (but I don't know how often either is updated) and if you contact
your state (not federal) legislators they will be able to direct you to state regulations if you
ask for a call-back with the information.

Here are two websites to help:

heavens we have a vet apt this morning!!) he cant use his back legs! He just kinda trys to
drag them then gives up and goes back to sleep. Also he walks backward in a circle...can
someone shed some light on the meaning of what this could be? Any suggestions would
make me feel better - I hate letting my mind wander. I looked it up online and there are
SO many different possibilites!!! He still isnt interested in being awake for longer than
about 15 minutes a day in which timehe eats an poos and pees.
