I mix 1 can A/D with 2 jars of the baby food. That helps keep the A/D
from tasting/smelling so strong. I also water it down to a smooth paste.
If a ferrets is dehydrated, I use the pedialite to do this. You can also
mix it into their water. Just be sure to make it more water than
pedialite b/c it does have a slight flavor which can cause some ferrets
not to drink it.
As for the dog food, another trick to speed up getting the food switched
is to store the ferret food in the dog food bag. This causes the ferret
food to smell like the dog food.
We have a little girl with IBD that needs to eat a food with no grains
in it. She was raised on cat food and will make a bee line downstairs to
see if there is any out. It is hard to "break" them of a bad food habit.
