Subject: [ferrethealth] Question about sudden male dominance
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

This is probably nothing, but since I lost my hob, Grissom, to renal
failure on the third, my other two males, ages 3 and 2, have been
displaying somewhat aggressive tendencies toward their three sisters.
Their play is certainly more vicious. Now Grissom was not the alpha,
my oldest female is. Grissom had been ill since I rescued him last
June. Both the boys are very healthy youngsters. Is this a way for
them to assert their dominance and try for the alpha role, or maybe
just grief? Thanks in advance.

By the way, all of the ferrets bunk together when not out, and always
have.
