Oh, Irene, your letter made me cry! Every word is so true......I can tell
you have been through more than what I have...my journey has only started as
the past 3-years I have not had one with a serious illness. And the love and
joy they have given me it unmeasurable. You know you are a success when they
feel secure enough with you to curl up in your arms and go to sleep. As you
said, I need to push those sad futures out of my mind because they will be
realities way too soon.
Last March 12, my favorite ferret, an albino, got out the door and forever
lost. Ad in the paper, listed at the humane society, plastered the
neighborhoods with posters, and even posters on my house windows (which are
still there-in the window). My 6 yr old grandson did not close the door all
the way. I am ashamed to admit but I was so angry with him I could not even
talk to him. I literally had to bite my tongue from lashing out at him. I
was so hurt....but thank God I managed to keep my tongue in my mouth and did
not tell him how angry I was but I sure told his mom and dad!
Everyone has learned, and I mean that in the strongest terminology!, that
when anyone comes in or out my doors their thoughts are watching for the
ferrets when they open or close it. They know their lives are in my hand! :)
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the comforting words. They soothed my soul
and as you, hope to see all my babies again.

Sincerely,

Linda
