I've read that in older humans tongue flicking can at times indicate dehydration may be
making the mouth uncomfy, so perhaps in addition to checking for causes of nausea (such as
ulcers or insulinoma which isn't well enough under control), mouth sores (also check
kidneys), etc. it may [ay to check ferrets who are doing it for dehydration.
