Ferrets hate Metronidazole so bad that the stress of giving it to them
is likely to cause ulcers. The current treatment for helicobacter in
both humans and ferrets is Amoxicillin, Biaxin (clarithromicin) and
Carafate for two weeks. When giving a ferret Pepto, be sure to get the
childrens Pepto. The adult version has salicalate (simular to asprin)
and it can make a ferret ill or kill it. I forget if it is the liver or
kidneys that it harms.
