I am all for giving them something more palatable if possible. I wasn't
offered that option by my vet. And I agree she hated it even though it
was compounded! However, I have another little one who was put on the
combination of Amoxicillin and Metronidazole for an anal gland infection
and no problem whatsoever when I mixed it with a bit of ferretone. So I
guess it depends on the ferret and of course what the vet prescribes.
Its nice to know there is a more palatable option.

The bottom line here is that a ferret with an ulcer does need to be seen
by a vet and put on antibiotics as I'm sure you agree. The original
post did not mention that any antibiotics were being given.
