I am not a vet. I have had good luck using Revolution for rattail. I use
a tube on the back of the neck every two weeks for three doses. After
that you can wash the tail with a hand brush and the blackheads just
wipe off. I don't know what kind of organism causes it, but Revolution
gets into the bloodstream and kills them. Nothing you put on the surface
seems to work.
