As a club/rescue we always recommend keeping two ferrets together to owners that work and are not around 24/7 but as most well fed ferrets sleep about 20 hours a day I cannot see that it matters a great deal. In October I was handed two ferrets, one by the local RSPCA and one by the police that would not accept cage mates and were bad biters, both still attack other ferrets on sight and I've given up trying to get them to be nice. Both will play with my dogs, even my working lurcher who thinks ferrets ought to be crunchy snacks. Both have stopped the fear biting but they will both have to go to single ferret homes and be much happier there than with other ferrets. Chris
