Subject: [ferrethealth] New to group but not to the furry ones and slightly off topic (sorry)

Good Morning,

My name is Brian Lowe. My wife, 5 teens, 3 cats, 4 dogs, and a Parrot
live in Palmetto Fl. I found you online by searching under Ferret
Adoption. This morning our Ferret of some years finally lost his
battle with Cardiomyopthy. It is a sad morning for us as he was a
bright spot in our lives. He was given free range upstairs and even
had passthoughs in a wall to "visit" when he wanted. He was a
constant torment to the cats which was an added bonus. Our dogs live
outside and are not allowed upstars so Randolf and the cats occupied
the penthouse. Randolf had a good life and for several years enjoyed
everything it was to be a Ferret. He had a particular passion for
hand tools. In fact he was able to relocate a 1 pound sledge hammer
which was no small feat!
My purpose in writing so soon after his passing is that he was a
rescued Ferret we took in from someone who could no longer care for
him. He gave us great joy and in return we feel his life was improved
by our love and attention. My wife is away this weekend visiting
family and does not know about Randolf's passing. Nothing can replace
him but having the capacity to care for another needing a home would
be a positive way to grieve in a constructive mannor. I do not know
if anyone in this group has an adoptable Ferret available it does not
matter the sex/age as long as it can get along with cats that have a
healthy respect for the little critters. My issue now is being so
close after the holidays we have very little money at this time but
plenty of love for a little guy or gal.

Sincerely
The Lowe Family
