Nicole, what kind of food are you feeding him? It could be high in protein but it needs to be high in "Meat" protein. Lots of foods that say they are high in "protein" are high in vegetable protein and ferrets need meat. Just a thought.

Hi all,
I need some help. I have a 4 year old ferret named Piggy. About 3 and
a half years ago, he became ill. After lots of tests we deduced that
he had IBD. He was put on prednisolone(once a day) and carafate(3
times a day).
He went to the vet about a week ago for his blood glucose and a blood
panel. His blood glucose is normal. The vet said she is concerned
because his protein level is low. She specifically is concerned about
insulinoma.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Nicole
