Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: one leg lameness in rear, no break on xray..what's wrong?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi, I have a ferret with a lame rear leg. The vet did surgery on her
leg. Her ligaments were totally disconnected. The vet has sewed her
leg back to a normal use but has advised me that his stitching will
only last 6 months. If her ligaments do not repair themselves she
will be permanently lame. The vet figures she has had a very
traumatic fall of some sort. The only thing I can think of is her leg
got caught in one of those ladders with holes and she must have hung
there for a time.
