Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] eating after surgery

I just wanted to add, that I'm trying to feed him from my finger, gently from a syringe, on my lap..etc... he's fighting me. I dont want to stress him, but I know I've got to get food into him. He's also been getting his pain meds. Is this ok to somewhat stress him, I'm trying not to though?
Thank you.

Hi everyone, My ferret River yesterday (1/22 Tues) had a partial pancreatectomy for insulinoma. I have only been able to get him to eat small, small amounts of gerber chicken baby food at each time - like only a 1/2 teaspoon at the most, every hour or two. Is this something to be expected? Or should he be eating more? I left a msg for his vet but would appreciate any info, esp regarding if this is normal after surgery.
Thank you,
Andrea and River
