Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Help with decision

For Koda, who isn't walking, I have the same thing with Lily. I still
believe she has a quality of life and she loves snuggling with her sisters and
snuggling with me when I give her assisted feedings. She can crawl around some
though, and that may be what makes the difference. On her good days, she can
play a little. She was doing better for a number of months, but had a three
night hospitalization and was on an IV in late December, and she has had
more trouble since. None of the vets can figure out what is wrong and she is
only three. But I am writing as a ferret owner who sees quality in life in my
particular ferret who cannot walk or do a lot, but doesn't seem in pain and
seems to still get some pleasure in her life. I know it is different for each
individual ferret, and Koda may be able to do less than Lily, but just
wanted to give that feedback. I figure I will know with Lily, but maybe not. It
has been time consuming and expensive, but a lot of it is about that she is
only three and I want to keep supporting her life if she wants to have it.
Does Koda seem to still want his life? That is how I try to decide for Lily.
Hope this doesn't add to confusion...........
