As Patty mentioned we have had 2 ferrets with liver bile duct cancer over
the years. These ferrets differ from other liver illnesses as the appetite
remains where hepatic illnesses usually cause nausea thus prompt a lack of
appetite- which prompts a vicious cycle. Ferrets need to keep eating to
cleanse the liver and get it healing. Bear FerretWise was our first bile
duct cancer patient he only was slightly jaundiced once -- his symptoms
instead were a fluid buildup in the abdomen which was regularly tapped
until he went onto injectible b vitamin therapy which resolved the fluid
issues.

I would suggest adding milk thistle to the ferrets diet and ensure that
food is eaten even in little bits while the cause of the liver condition is
investigated.
