Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Help with decision
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I am so sorry you are in this position. Unfortunately, ferrets never
seem to live very long. I've had to make this one before and I know
how hard it is. Only you can decide. Not even your vet can tell you.
Quality of life can be different for everybody. I have a little one
that is blind and mostly deaf. Some could say that she couldn't have
good quality of life but she does fine. A piece of chicken or beef
smells great to her and off she goes with it even though she can't
smell her way along and runs into things. I used to feel I needed to
protect her but she really doesn't.
How do you think Koda feels? Does he look glad to see you? What
only health problems complicate things? Does have problems peeing
due to other problems such as a blockage or does expressing his
bladder work?
With some of mine I just knew it was time. I can't really explain.
I know I waited too long with Rascal although he still crossed
quietly. With Rocky and Timber, I had no doubt when it was time.
This doesn't make it any easier.
My prayers are with you both. May you both have peace.
Olivia
