Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Help with decision
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I wanted to mention something that might help, or might not help at
all. My Shortbread did the same thing one morning. She just woke up
and starting dragging herself around. She spent most of the time
hiding, as she was unhappy and not feeling well, but came out to eat
and go to the bathroom. When I took her to the first two vets, no one
knew what was wrong, but when I got her to the Huge animal hospital
an hour away, they did tests upon tests until they were able to come
back with an answer for me. My baby ended up having Lymphoma. They
had to insert a needle into the lymphnode and take some liquid to get
the results and it did come back abnormal. Within a day of being put
on Predisone and Clavamox, she was back on her feet again as if
nothing had ever happened before. They are doing Chemo and so far,
things are going well, but I needed to share this in case its
something that might have been overlooked. It would be neat to give a
little Predisone and see if they respond as quickly as mine did. I
know it will not help many of the ferrets that may have had other
issues that brought them to this state, but for some that are still
not sure what is going on, it might be worth a try to see if they
respond at all. Just a thought.
