Subject: [ferrethealth] cardiomyopathy in ferrets....
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,
First, thank-you for taking time to answer my concerns! My Lucy has been
diagnosed with cardiomyopathy since June 2007. I have been treating her with
Isoprel daily to keep her heart rate up. Question....do you believe there is
pain with this disease? As this disease progresses, sometimes she passes
out, just drops! I immediately give her an injection and she slowly comes
around. usually 5 or 6 minutes. Question, Is the passing out doing harm to her
heart or brain? And finally, As my greatest fear is when the end comes, does this
disease usually end with a heart attack? And is it quick? I just don't want
her to be in a lot of pain until I can get her to the hospital when the end
does come. I know nothing is the same with all ferrets with this disease, I
just want your opinion. It means a lot to me! Thank-You once again for your
time and help!

Sincerely,

Ray
