I had one of my furkids, Blake, who was almost 7 1/2 when he was diagnosed
with insulinoma. My vet immediately put him on prednisone and diazoxide. I
have a wonderful druggist here who compounds medicines for my needs with the
babies. I had Blake with me for just over a year after I got him on his meds.
He had fewer insulinoma episodes than any of my other babies that had had
insulinoma ever did. I lost him just two weeks ago, but I can truly say his
quality of life with the diazoxide was much better than I would ever have
expected.I also gave him duck soup several times a day that I made very high in
protein content. Hope this helps.
