Subject: [ferrethealth] Insulinoma surgery
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
hello everybody, i posted before about Mimmo, the rescue ferret I have
in my home and who has insulinoma. In the meantime Mimmo had an
operation and the main insulinoma and a part of the pancreas have been
removed. He seems to be doing well. He doesn't have the 'trance'
anymore although today he seems to be a bit lethargic. I imagine it is
a hell of an operation. My question is: what will happen to him now. Is
surgery for the time being enough or will he be put on medication
anyhow? My vet will decide on saturday when I go back for the control
and to get the stitches out but I would like your opinion and learn
from your experience about what is the best method, or what is usually
done.
Greetings from Italy, ANja.
