Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Vitamins for Ferrets
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Cindy,
We add either a level tbsp of Uncle Jim's Duk Soup or Nupro sprinkled over their kibble in cage food bowls. Have also used furo-vite for a supplement, along with ferretone.
As far as daylight, they have access to sleep boxes and other hiding places that are dark for napping. Don't need to keep them in the dark when they are out and about. They get to play outside in the summer and in the snow at winter time. They have a play area fenced for their outside time, or if they go out one at a time for a walk, they are harnessed and on a eight foot lead.
Night time when caged, the cages are covered on all sides with blankets or quilts for near total darkness.
Hope this helps.

I have two questions, (I checked the Archives, but could not find
anything that really answered the questions for me.. Q 1- What kind of
vitamins can I give my ferrets? I give them ferrtone now but would like
to give them more. Q 2 - Daylight. Should I keep the curtains closed in
the area that they like to spend the most time? Cover their cage?
Thanks for the help.

Cindy
