If the ferrets have their own room at night time, without artificial
lighting but with window(s) then you will already have the daylight
that is current for the time of year, you have no need to curtain
windows etc., the normal light/dark cycle is the most natural.
If you provide sleeping boxes in their cage with only a small
entrance hole then it does not matter if you pop in to check on
them after dark and switch on the light for a few minutes.
