Carol,
I wouldn't wait a few days. That would cause them to get a rash. My last
ferret (the very last of 7) soiled herself often in her last months of life.
I wiped her little bottom with baby wipes to keep her clean at all times. I
dried her afterward with a soft towel. You can get baby wipe warmers at baby
storesto keep the wipes a more comfortable temperature. It is important to
keep them dry and comfortable. In my experiences with ferrets they like to be
dry and clean, it gives them some dignity in their last months/days of life.
Your ferrets will love you even more for the special attention.
