As I recall, Chris, wasn't it you who was advised something like 30 years ago by an old
ferret keeper that if ferrets do not have dark boxes in which to rest and sleep that they
tended to become ill?
Someone in Britain who has had ferrets for a long time was told that by someone who had
them for much longer, but off hand I am not sure who it was. If not Chris, and if that
person is here, could you, please, speak up about this piece of what was apparently a long
known ferreter wisdom which wound up too forgotten? It seems that even without knowing
about the body's own production of melatonin people did wind up seriously considering the
need for darkness (which is when the body makes its own melatonin) in the past in Europe.
