I have a fairly new ferret in my home (came from a not so good place) that I
need to get wait on. Can you clarify the "animal/chicken fat."? I just
boiled some chicken that to start feeding to all my babies but threw out the
fat and skin.
I have started giving him the Gerber's chicken #2 w/Ensure and he is lapping
that up. I have build this little guy up once and he then sleeps a lot, and
misses eating. I have had him to the vet and he could not find anything
wrong. He was just in such run down condition when he came to me and I knew
I had a long road ahead to get he and his cagemate back on their feet. His
coat is coarselike; that I was told could be due to the dollar store cat
food they were being fed. I did have problems in the beginning of them not
eating. That turned out to be two things; adjusting to a new place and
change of food. In order to totally wing them over to ferret food, I am
having to mix it with my dog's Purina One. When I could not get them to eat,
they walked over to the dogs dish and started eating. They will not eat just
the ferret food. I am working on adding less and less of PO and more of the
Marshall"s. I have been using 8 in 1 but my "Big Kahoona" that came to me in
mid January was raised on Marshall's and he is in such beautiful shape (he
came from a very good loving home) that I have decided to put all my guys on
it. Of course, all of mine are in good shape except one has the coarselike
coat; not any of the others though.
Sorry, didn't mean to get carried away. Just wanted to know about the
"animal/chicken fat. :) :) :)
