We pulled the food around midnight. Water about four hours before surgery. The two DMK boys had their surgery around nine in the morning. Picked them up around four that afternoon. They ate like pigs when they got home. They recovered nicely and have really settled down. Aggresive behavior toward the female subsided within a couple of days. Now they romp with their 17 "brothers, sisters" and mother.

I am getting my ferret Simone spayed on Monday, and I was just curious
as to how long she should fast before her surgery. We are supposed to
take her in between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning. Ferrets have to eat
every three hours, but I don't want there to be any risk of
regurgitation when she is under anesthetic.
