Hi Linda, ferrets require a fairly high level of fat in their diets, around 20% and I would only start removing fat if my ferrets were getting too plump. Its much better for a ferret to get calories from chicken/animal fat than sugary foods like kibble, sweet fruits or treats. Chris.
