Hi Amanda - Unless your two year old has any symptom of illness, I would not
worry about the bald patches in that location. She may be dragging herself
over something that has caused "wear on her hair" or she may be excessively
licking. My guys are sporting little hairless spots in odd places like the
top of their head or on the throat......something really wierd, right? This
is the result of one of my brain storms which turned out to be a (excuse me)
brain fart. I bought a large area indoor/outdoor carpet advertised to be left
out in all weather and easily cleaned by hosing off. Wow, I thought as most
ferret owners might. They can do anything they want and all I have to do is
hose it! Knew I had made major mistake when I fell on it a got a horrific
skinned knee. Think the thing is made out of closly woven steel wool. Great
for the feet, however, as it removes dry skin as well as ferret fur and human
knees. Take heed and a warning to avoid this type of carpet! Mine will soon
be history.

My two yr old female has two small (about the size of a nickel) bald
spots located on her underside, between her back legs. She does not
have any hair loss or thinning anywhere else. They have been there for
at least a month now. Her hair has always been very thin is this
region, but now there is none. Her tail (including the base and tip)
looks normal, and her coat is very soft. Is this the early signs of
adrenal, or just a seasonal shedding pattern?
