Subject: [ferrethealth] Ripper - tumor update
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Just FYI, I got the biopsy results late yesterday. The tumor was not malignant; it was the result of a puncture or crushing wound that got infected and - I want to say fibrous, but I couldn't hear the voice mail very well. It was definitely not just a wound. It looked like a tick! But I am very, very relieved that he doesn't have to have an amputation.

In not so good news, we ran an adrenal panel (based on the liver condition he had, and fat in the lower abdomen), and at not-even-three years old, he has 2 of the 3 hormones on the panel elevated. It's very upsetting. He doesn't have any symptoms, so the vet thinks we should wait to do a surgery. He did have a lupron shot to try to suppress the spring hormone surge. We'll retest in 6 months and see how he is.

Best regards to all -
Melissa
