We use a mix of petroleum jelly and ferretone. Some ferrets will even
take the straight petroleum jelly, but everything is better with a
little ferretone. :-) There isn't really a recipe, we just mix in
the ferretone until it's a thinner consistency.
Avoiding sugars when dealing with a ferret that has insulinoma is a
good idea. Even ferrets without insulinoma can benefit from using a
hairball remedy that does not contain sugar, so if all of your ferrets
enjoy it, it wouldn't hurt to get them used to it.
Hope this helps!
